It has stirred the imagination of people across millennia, from the captivating story of Orion the Hunter and the seven sisters of the Pleiades in Greek mythology to more indigenous tales of winter cycles and meteor showers. These celestial narratives have enriched our understanding of the cosmos while imparting lessons about courage, and love, at the darkest time of the year. Winter’s starry expanse continues to beckon us to look up and ponder the meaning of the Universe. This talk will explore winter sky stories linking them to the megalithic wonders on our doorstep.
