ABOUT
The Guildhall a vibrant multi-purpose building in the heart of St Ives Cornwall.
The 1939 Guildhall is steeped in heritage with great acoustics and 85 years experience of delivering live entertainment and events.
With a capacity of up to 500 it is available to hire for a wide range events, there are also smaller rooms available including council chamber, mayors parlour and committee room.
St Ives Guildhall is owned and managed by St Ives Town Council and has been since 2013. In fact, it has always been in public sector ownership, owned and managed by each local council running St Ives. The concert hall has been a venue for live events and performance for many decades. Some still recall seeing their parents dancing in the hall as children during the war.
It has always provided a space for live performance and entertainment for the local community. The Council’s aim is to continue this proud heritage and tradition.
In 2019, the Town Council began a regeneration project to modernise the venue and increase the number of live performances and energise the space. This marks the beginning of a new era for the Guildhall at a time when performance space and live music venues are diminishing. The hall boasts the largest remaining performance space in West Cornwall, complete with balcony seating and sprung dance floor.
As of 2023, St Ives Town Council is proud to have secured £3.1 million through the St Ives Town Deal as part of the £19.9 million Government ‘Towns Fund’.
This significant once in a lifetime funding is the catalyst ensuring the council’s aims and ambitions will be realised.
