The 1939 Guildhall is steeped in heritage has a sprung dance floor, grand piano, great acoustics and 85 years’ experience of delivering live entertainment and events.

St Ives Guildhall is owned and managed by St Ives Town Council and has been since 2013. In fact, it has always been in public sector ownership, owned and managed by each local council running St Ives. The concert hall has been a venue for live events and performance for many decades. Some still recall seeing their parents dancing in the hall as children during the war.
It has always provided a space for live performance and entertainment for the local community. The Council’s aim is to continue this proud heritage and tradition.
In 2019, the Town Council began a regeneration project to modernise the venue and increase the number of live performances and energise the space. This marks the beginning of a new era for the Guildhall at a time when performance space and live music venues are diminishing. The hall boasts the largest remaining performance space in West Cornwall, complete with balcony seating and sprung dance floor.

The Council is a small town council with limited funds. It is investing in the fabric of the building but filling the space and running events will generate more vitality – and more income and revenue to re-invest. You can help us by donating to our programme fund to bring more live performance at an affordable price and becoming a volunteer. To find out more…
